As the 2024 IMEX Frankfurt approaches, excitement builds with an anticipated 4,000 buyers set to attend at Messe Frankfurt from May 14 to 16. The event is outpacing its 2023 figures in terms of buyers, exhibitors, and meetings, signaling a robust uptick in global meetings and events industry confidence.

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, says: “We know that face to face events are where some of the most valuable business conversations take place – according to EIC research as many as 22 per cent of new customers are generated through in-person events. Our show’s carefully designed to facilitate this and, from the demand we’re currently seeing from both buyers and suppliers, the appetite to meet and do business as we head into the second quarter of the year is impressive.”

Expanded Exhibitor Lineup

A diverse array of suppliers, including destinations, venues, hotels, and technology providers, are poised to engage in business. Notably, representation has increased across all regions, with significant growth from North America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa.

The U.S. presence has notably expanded, with the number of destinations participating doubling from last year to over 20. Newcomers such as Savannah, Bloomington, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills will debut in the new Brand USA pavilion. Asia is also well-represented, with Beijing returning and Ho Chi Minh City making its first appearance. Both Indonesia and Japan are expanding their presence, with Tokyo securing its own booth.

African destinations are on the rise, with Senegal and Zambia joining for the first time. Tanzania returns with one of its largest booths ever, and Rwanda marks a decade since the launch of its convention bureau, which was first introduced at IMEX Frankfurt in 2014.

European participation is also increasing, with countries and cities like Italy, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Istanbul expanding their exhibit spaces. Leading hotel groups such as Accor, Hilton, Hyatt, Four Seasons, Marriott, Radisson, and Wyndham will display their extensive portfolios.

The technology section of the show will feature innovations in payment processing, virtual events, and content management, with new exhibitors like TranslateABLE, Swoogo, and OUispeak.

Updates and Research Announcements

The global scope of IMEX makes it an ideal venue for significant industry announcements. Attendees can expect new studies and insights from notable exhibitors, including Canada, Cvent, EIC, Gothenberg, ICCA, Los Cabos, Net Zero Carbon Events, PCMA, and Thailand.

Welcoming New Participants

IMEX offers a special ‘welcome package’ for first-time attendees, which includes a variety of activities to help them integrate and navigate the event. An introductory meet-up on the opening day will provide newcomers with an opportunity to connect, gain insights, and receive practical advice on everything from planning meetings to networking and local recommendations.
