Can someone explain to me missile warfare strategy, particularly in relation to the Russian/Ukraine conflict. Prefacing this with I am not pro-Russia and believe the invasion is illegal, just curious on what the strategy they are going for.
I see news reports of Russia launching some missiles or drones at Ukraine each day but often only a few dozen each day.
I am just wondering if they have more to launch the next day why don’t they do more in one go? Surely the increase would overwhelm air defence systems?
I see an obvious psychological warfare game with launching a few each day but I am not sure how this really helps what I assume is there overall goal (invading and taking Ukrainian territory).
Would an overwhelming missile strike not make it easier for their troops to invade?
