We’re running a startup which automates military discounts, by integrating with Visa and MasterCard and verifying military service.
More specifically, we enable users to sign up, get verified and link a card, and every time they shop with their linked card (just like they do now) at qualifying merchant location, we reimburse them with the discount amount as cashback.
We invoice restaurants monthly or quarterly for the discount amounts.
All of our discounts are tax deductible since we have a non profit wing of our business. So you essentially get an annual donation summary with all the discounts that you’ve given to veterans, all tax deductible.
I’m reaching out to restaurant owners to see if they think it is a good idea, especially those that get a lot of military traffic in cities like San Antonio or San Diego.
