My cat and kitten do not get along, will neutering the kitten help my older cat accept him?

My adult female cat is very territorial around the new kitten who is a male. We are going to take a step back and quarantine him for another two weeks. Does some of my older cats aggression stem from the kitten not being neutered? He has his appointment for it next week and I am wondering if it will help the situation at all.
