Mariska Hargitay explains why she could not prevent Kelli Giddishs exit from Law & Order: SVU. Hargitay is a Law & Order staple, playing lead character Olivia Benson on the series since 1999. Since her season 1 debut, Hargitay has gone on to act in over 500 episodes of Law & Order: SVU. Her former co-star Kelli Giddish played the character of Amanda Rollins. Giddish and Hargitay have also both made appearances on the spinoff series Law & Order: Organized Crime.
