At 935 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles northwest of Hoffman, or 12 miles west of Southern Pines, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Sanford, Southern Pines, Carthage, Pinehurst, Whispering Pines, Cameron, Lemon Springs, Gum Springs, Cumnock, and Tramway.
