Pack your festive noisemakers and get ready for a thrilling summer of cricket in the idyllic setting of Antigua and Barbuda. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has launched their innovative ‘Be’ marketing campaign, specifically targeting cricket enthusiasts. According to Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the ‘Be’ campaign encourages visitors to fully engage and revel in the diverse offerings of Antigua and Barbuda, from its rich cultural heritage to its exciting sports activities, serene wellness retreats, and romantic escapes.

This initiative kicks off with a cricket-centric “Be” video as the islands, known for their deep cricket roots, gear up for an exhilarating cricket season. Sir Richie Richardson, a celebrated figure in West Indies cricket, passionately invites fans in the campaign video to come and experience the vibrant ‘cricket carnival’ atmosphere. Antigua and Barbuda’s very own Keisha Schahaff, the pioneering astronaut who traveled to space with her daughter, also features in the campaign, which aligns with the “Out of this World” theme of the upcoming ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup, scheduled to start in Antigua this June.

In the campaign video, a cricket ball is humorously depicted traveling through space before dramatically landing on a picturesque Antiguan beach, much to the joy of local children. The video showcases various iconic locations across the islands, including Shirley Heights and Nelson’s Dockyard, tracing the ball’s journey as it stirs up enthusiasm and anticipation with the sound of a conch shell, preparing viewers for a memorable cricket season. The campaign will be visible through digital, print, social media, and radio channels, aimed at drawing cricket fans globally to Antigua and Barbuda.

Additionally, Antigua and Barbuda will host not only the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup but also the FairBreak T20 Challenge celebrating Women’s Cricket in July and the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League from late August to early October. Later in the year, the England Men’s Cricket team will tour the West Indies, with key games played in Antigua and other Caribbean locations.

Here are the detailed fixtures for the upcoming ICC T20 matches in Antigua:

  • June 9, 2024: Oman vs Scotland
