Movie set in Ancient or simply older China, Japan, or Korea about a life of a servant, concubine, or any other position?

I'm looking for a movie set before 1940's but preferably even further back in one of the three countries. I'd like for the movie to focus on the life of a person in some sort of specific position, doesn't necessarily have to the ones I listed, those were just examples. I'd prefer if the movie was from the country that the movie is set in, but not a requirement

Examples of a movie I'm looking for would be "Raise the Red Lantern", "Farewell my Concubine", "The Last Emperor", etc

However, please no samurai movies
