I know we can just ask an agent when we land but maybe someone here has had experience with this:
My family are going to the US for the first time since daughter was born. Family consists of:
Me/dad, EU citizen, travelling in ESTA.
Wife/mother, double USA/EU citizen.
Baby, less than a year old, EU citizen (waiting for US citizenship), travelling on ESTA. She has my last name, if that matters. Mother kept her last name when we married.
In the before-times, we would split up for passport check and my wife would wait for me at baggage claim. I have a feeling families are supposed to enter together though.
Anyone with insight?
