Delta Air Lines has appointed Maria Black and Willie CW Chiang to its board of directors, the company announced.
Maria Black is currently the CEO and President of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), a top-tier global tech firm specializing in human capital management solutions. Before her presidency, which began in January 2023, Black was ADP’s President from January 2022. Since her start at ADP in 1996, Black has progressed through several high-level roles, including President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, President of Small Business Solutions and Human Resources Outsourcing, and President of ADP TotalSource. She also serves on ADP’s Board of Directors. Black earned a BA in political science and international affairs from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
“We are very excited to welcome both Maria and Willie to the Delta board of directors,” said David Taylor, Delta’s non-executive Chair of the Board. “Maria brings substantial global leadership in the technology and human capital management industry. Willie has extensive experience in the energy industry. Both of them will contribute valuable expertise to our work, enhancing the depth and range of Delta’s already strong, independent and diverse board of directors.”
Willie CW Chiang is the Chairman and CEO of Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., and its parent company, Plains GP Holdings, L.P. Since joining the company in 2015, Chiang has held significant roles, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, before becoming CEO in October 2018 and Chairman in January 2020. His prior experience includes executive roles at Occidental Petroleum and various capacities at ConocoPhillips starting in 1996, after beginning his career at Chevron in 1981. Chiang is a mechanical engineering graduate from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
