...RED FLAG WARNING FOR EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING... Critical fire weather conditions will occur this afternoon and early evening across the Sheyenne River basin and thru east central and southeast North Dakota. Relative humidity values will drop to near 20 percent, with a 40% chance of dipping between 10-20 percent. West winds will increase with sustatined values in the 20 to 25 mph range with gusts 35 mph or higher. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In North Dakota, Eddy, Griggs, Steele, Traill, Barnes, Cass, Ransom, Sargent and Richland. * WINDS...West 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
