I am backpacking down the east coast of Australia in June/July and have been considering visiting the Great Barrier Reef but have heard conflicting reports due to the damage and bleached corals.
I'm on a backpackers budget so can't really justify the live aboards but is snorkeling/diving for a day still worth the cost?
I go to Indonesia afterwards, would do diving there as well. Is it best to just wait until then?
Any advice would be great.
