With Quentin Tarantino dropping "The Movie Critic" as his final film, which of his unrealized projects would make a good substitute?

Quentin Tarantino has dropped "The Movie Critic" as his 10th and supposed final film. This isn't the first time Tarantino has has dropped or left a project to the wind. QT has quite a few unrealized projects. Perhaps one of them could end up being his final film.

I listed some that I found the most interesting. For the full list, here's the link.

Projects:

  • John Brown movie: A movie about abolitionist John Brown. Tarantino isn't a fan of biopics but has stated that John Brown is his favorite hero of American history and if he made a biopic, it would be one of the last movies he ever makes.
  • Killer Crow: A movie surrounding a group of World War II-era black troops who have "been fucked over by the American military and kind of go apeshit. They basically – the way Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and the Basterds are having an 'Apache resistance' – [the] black troops go on an Apache warpath and kill a bunch of white soldiers and white officers on a military base and are just making a warpath to Switzerland."
  • Snake Belly: A Spaghetti Western comedy film. Each character would speak a different language with an American sheriff played by a German, A Mexican saloon girl played by an Isaraeli, and a Mexican Bandido played by an Italian.
  • Untitled 1930s-set gangster film: A crime film done in the style of 1930s Warner Bros. gangster movies (Angels with Dirty Faces, Little Caesar, The Public Enemy, etc.) Tarantino would later flesh out this idea by having it take place in Australia and focus on a Bonnie & Clyde-type couple.
  • Untitled disaster film: A movie inspired by 1970s disaster movies like Airport, The Poseidon Adventure, and The Towering Inferno. The movie's cast would been comprised of many of his reoccurring actors: John Travolta, Pam Grier, Robert Forster, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, and Bridget Fonda.
  • Untitled family film: A family film done in the style of The Mighty Ducks.
  • Untitled Howard Hawks-esque screwball romcom: A screwball comedy done in the vein of Howard Hawks films like His Girl Friday (1940) and Bringing Up Baby (1938). The film would have two A-list actors as leads.
  • Untitled kung-fu film: A kung-fu movie done entirely in Mandarin. There would be two theatrical cuts: one with subtitles and one with out-of-sync English dubbing. Tarantino was inspired about possibly doing another martial arts film after seeing "House of Flying Daggers" at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
  • Untitled medieval film: Set in England's Middle Ages, this project would retain Tarantino signature traits including bloody violence and foul language. This film was supposed to be QT's follow-up to Inglourious Basterds and he even offered Helen Mirren a role as a "foul-mouthed monarch."
  • Untitled sci-fi horror movie: Set on Earth, this project would not be a "spaceship movie" but a "slasher sci-fi horror" inspired by The Thing, Halloween, Stalker, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. QT cancelled the project stating his writing style was too "wordy" for horror but revived the idea as a possible pick for his final film.
