Tips for New England?

Hi there,

I’m an Aussie travelling to Boston for a business trip in September and thought I may as well extend my leave and see what other nearby states have to offer.

My biggest question is - where should I pop over to? A couple of places that have piqued my interest are Portland, Maine and Burlington, Vermont. I have already been to Rhode Island (Providence) and New Hampshire (Concord) in the past.

I don’t know too much about Maine (except lobster and Allegash) and Vermont (nature, Ben and Jerry’s, The Alchemist). I’m into craft beer, history, art, nature walks, just genuine tourist stuff.

Ideally looking to spend 1-2 nights in each place before heading back to Boston so potentially looking at 2 or 3 destinations max.

I’m happy to fly (and assume this would be the case as the US is of a relatively similar size to Oz and travel takes ages) and budget isn’t a massive concern.

Only thing is I’ll be flying in and out of Boston Logan.

Thanks for your suggestions/advice
