Kate Winslet's new HBO series The Regime is a big disappointment, but her upcoming entry in a huge sci-fi franchise can make up for the show's Rotten Tomatoes rating. It's easy to see what attracted Winslet to her latest HBO miniseries. The ingredients were there for the political satire to be something special; it was her return to HBO following the acclaim of Mare of Easttown, it was created by Will Tracy (The Menu, Succession) and half the episodes were helmed by veteran director Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons). Even The Regime's cast included heavyweights like Andrea Riseborough and Hugh Grant.
