Frankfurt Airport - Business Class Early Boarding Debacle

So. You pay an arm and a leg for business class. One of the perks is early boarding, not fighting for overhead space to stow your carry on items.

Boarding announcement - advanced boarding for passengers in group 1. You cue up, show your boarding pass, and make your way to….

The bus.

The bus you get to first, but then get to wait until - yes - all the other passengers show up and also get on the same bus. And if you haven’t done this shit-show in Frankfurt before (like I have too many times) you make your way deeper into the bus to allow other passengers to now board. And they WILL NOT proceed until the bus is packed like a sardine can.

And then you get to your plane. You sit on the bus because the plane isn’t ready for boarding yet. And get to stand, sardine style, waiting for the plane to be re-fueled or whatever. Then once the doors open, deep in the bus, you wait until the group 3 passengers who got on last - but who now are standing at the door - make their way ahead of you onto the plane.

Or. Asshole style. As you get on the bus, you park your ass by the door you just entered and refuse to go to the back of the bus. And when the doors open, you make your way - more or less towards the front of the cue onto the airplane (which only has boarding btw at the rear entry to the plane).

Oh, almost forgot. After making your way through the second security screening (explain?) to your gate (A 23), 30 min before boarding, you get the announcement that you’re now at gate A 64 - the exact opposite end of the terminal - and a 15 minute walk. You get to the gate, to get on your bus which drives you - yes - right by gate A21, 22 and 23 - before parking outside your plane.

Frankfurt Airport - taking lessons from Pearson in Canada on how to frustrate passengers to reduce air travel? There is, perhaps, a reason that connections through Frankfurt are much cheaper than elsewhere.
